My Go-To Meal {The Girl Between The Lines}

I just, like now, found about this wonderful link up hosted over at A Beautiful Exchange and The Albrechts Blog called The Girl Between the Lines. It's a pretty amazing link-up, where we get to know each other a little bit better. Each week the ladies have a different topic.
Girl Between the Lines Link up

This Week: What is Your Go-To Meal?
I'm such a foodie and I love so many dishes. But I think my go-to meal would be Chicken Salad, or as my family calls it "Ensalada de Navidad" aka "Christmas Salad." (perfect timing right?)

It's probably one of the easiest thing to make.
Chicken Salad
Ingredients:
Chicken
Mayonaise (about 4 spoonsful, or desired)
Sour Cream (about 1 spoonful)
Mixed Vegetables (fresh or canned)
Salt (to taste)

Directions:
- Boil your chicken until nice and tender
- Shred your chicken and mix in your mixed vegetables.
- Add the mayo and sour cream and mix everything together.

See the easiest thing ever. I also used to add cooked pasta, also very yummy. So people add olives, tomatoes, and other vegetables, which I think would be delish as well.

Here is a little history about this dish. So i mentioned that my family calls it "Christmas Salad." Why, you may ask? Well the first reason is because it apparently looks like Christmas. The mayo and the chicken makes the "snow" and the mixed vegetables with the peas, and corn, and carrots, make up the tree and the ornaments. Uhhhhh.. I don't know, okay? I don't know. (Smh) I think our parents would just tell us this when we were younger so that we will eat it.. hahah.

The second reason, and I think the one that touched me the most, was just explained last week. When I asked my aunt, why it was called Ensalada de Navidad. She told us that back when they were younger and living in Mexico, they didn't have much money, and a delicacy like chicken and even mayo was not affordable. But when Christmas time rolled around, they would eat this yummy Chicken Salad, so the name Ensalada de Navidad stuck.

When I was away at college. I remember me and my roomies would always make this salad, because it was so fast. We would add the pasta so that it could last us longer. And believe me we survived off one batch of Chicken Salad for a little bit more than a week.

My Wish List to Myself.

Christmas is only a week away!!! Woot!!!
I love the holiday season because it's full of happiness and family time. :)
It's also the season of gift giving. I'm one of those people that enjoy's gift giving way, way more than receiving gifts. Is that weird? Lol. I don't like to ask for things. Or write wish lists. lol.
But here is a wish list for myself. I think I've worked hard this year, maybe I'll spoil myself with a little something. And hopefully this will give you all an idea of some gifts for your special girls in your life. :)
  1. Beyonce Visual Album!!! Who does not love Queen Bey?? Her surprise album did not come at a more perfect time than the holidays. :)
  2. Jewelry stand. I need one of these, but not for my jewelry but more nailpolishes. I have a similar one, where I do have my nail polishes, but my nail polish seem to be growing at a high rate and they have taken over my shelf, and I'm in dire need for one of these. Maybe I'll make it myself. {Make it yourself at Snap!}
  3. I'm pretty obsessed with Candles!! Any kind!! They are so relaxing, and I think I perfect gift.
  4. Jewelry. What girl doesn't love jewelry? Another perfect gift. {Source}
  5. Scarves. Another obsession of mine. Scarves can be worn in the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. You know you will be wearing it year long. {Source
  6. Lipsticks, have become another obsession of mine this year. I wear some almost everyday, and I'm on the journey to expand my collection. Every lady needs lipstick to make them feel even more sexy.  {source}
  7. Vera Wang perfume. My perfume. I love it. {Source}
What are you buying yourself this holiday season?

LovelyAdri on Etsy {Ruffle Scarves}

Ahh again I'm so sorry for being a bit M.I.A this last weeks.

I hope all your Thanksgiving Weekend was amazing, and you got to spend it around family, friends, love and some yummy food. :)

I'm grateful for you, my readers. Thanks for tuning in. :)

It's December. My Favorite Month!!!! My Birthday Month, wooot woot.

Anyways. It's a small post for today. I promise to get back on my A game when it comes to my posting.

Chilly weather is upon us, and Winter is right around the corner, I decided to start making some more of these cute ruffle scarves. Last January-February, I learned how to make them, and I sold a couple of them. But when hot days rolled around, it was too hot to wear them.

But Winter is almost here, and that means the Holidays are coming too. The joy of giving, my favorite season. I thought it would be a perfect time to set up an ETSY shop!! wooot!!

I was hesitant to do it. I've been eyeing Etsy for a while, but I finally decided to open a shop. And I'm so excited. so we will see how it goes.

So if you have a certain someone who would love these, come on over. They are great for gifts. Light-weight but warm. A great addition to your wardrobe. :) and they come in different colors.

Now through December 20, enter THOUGHTSADRI for free shipping. :)
