When I Grow Up... {Blog-tember Challenge}

Hi lovelies,
Hope you all have been having a great week. It's almost the weekend. Woot!!!

Brave Love Blog

Today's Prompt:
"When I grow up I want to be...." Feel free to answer as your 5-year-old self or as of now.

I've written a very similar post some time ago on my "All Grown Up" goals. Read it in full here.

You know how some kids change what they want to be when they grow up every so often. I remember not really changing it. I wanted to be a teacher, for as long as remember. I remember having this ping-pong table at our house, and when it was time to play outside, me and my cousins would play school. The ping-pong table was green, and big, and it looked like a chalkboard, and we would literally use it as such. I would be the teacher and my brothers and cousins would be my students. I would even make a roll sheet to look like the ones that the teachers have.

As I got older, being a teacher stayed with me. It was in college where I really realized that I enjoyed working with children.

Yes I've always wanted to be a teacher, but I also had a dream career that not a lot of people know that it was serious. In high school I took a Fashion Design class as one of my electives. We learned to sew clothes, work with patterns, draw croquis. I fell in love with it. So now at age 24, if teaching doesn't work out, when I grow up I want to be a Fashion Designer. I would love to go back to school and take some fashion design courses. :)

What did/do you want to be when you grow up?

Dream Catcher {D.I.Y}

Today's A-Z Letter =  D is for ..... Dream Catcher
I've always been fascinated with dream catchers since I was little. The Native Americans used dream catchers to ward off bad dreams and spirits. In the last couple of months I have been obsessed with them. And of course thanks to Pinterest this is the outcome. One for my bedroom and one for my car.

D.I.Y Dream Catchers

//Materials//
- Embroidery Hoops (I used 5in and 3in hoops)
- Embroidery String (or you can use twine or yarn)
- Embelishments like feathers, beads, ribbon, sequins, jewels, chains, etc.

//Instructions//
- Untighten the hoop and use only one of the hoops which ever you prefer. I used the inside hoop for the bigger one and I used the outside hoop for the smaller one.
- Use ribbon, or scrap fabric, (you can even use yarn or spray paint your hoop) to wrap around your hoop.
- Take your sting and tie a knot anywhere on your hoop and begin weaving it in. Loop the string from top to bottom and back up. This part is up to you creativity. There are endless ways to weave in your string to mak different designs.
- Add embellishments:
- I just added the beads after I weaved the web by just tying them with a seperate piece of string. But maybe it would've been easier to add the beads while weaving the web.
- For the feathers. Tie them to the a piece of string. Before you tie the feathers to the hoop, add beads to hide the knots and make the feathers stand up straight.
- The yellow strings are pieces of ribbon that I just tied to the hoop.
- To make the braids on the little one, I just cut three pieces of string for each of the three main strands of the braid.
- Finally add some sting to the top of the dream catcher and to tie wherever you want.

Dreams, Loyalty and No Regrets

I'm really lagging behind on my posts for Bare Your Soul!! Fail!! This weekend was just so busy with the baby shower, but here is my one-paragraph (I really tried) answers.

Do you have recurring dreams? Explain.
I wish I could remember all my dreams, at least one dream. But sometimes I just can't. One time I even put a notebook by my bedside for me to jot down everything I could once I wake, but that didn't work.

But one type of dream that I do remember is running away from someone that is chasing me. I consider this a nightmare, because I wake up from this type in the middle of the night scared out of my mind. Oh and there is different variations, sometimes the person who is chasing me has a gun, or a knife. Sometimes there is a bomb, and a group of us have to run away together. It's really scary. No one actually dies in these nightmares, but still they are pretty frightening.
"Dreaming about being chased generally means that you are "being told by your unconsciousness that you're avoiding an issue or a person," - {Source}

One word that describes me and why
Loyal.
That was harder than I thought. But I think Loyal is the best way to describe me. Roll with me and I will have your back until the day I die. I think I invest everything to my relationships, with relatives and friends, and become instantly attached to you. I will always care for you, no matter what happens.

To me loyalty means being able to tell that person the truth. It also being able to be there for the person through the good times and the bad. Being loyal is believing in the person, even when that person doesn't believe in themselves. Being able to protect your person from harm, at least trying to, whether it be physical or emotional harm.

 I value my relationships so much, and the only think I ask in return is to be loyal to me. So if I feel like I have given you my trust, my loyalty to you, and you don't care about me the same way I do, then we have a problem. Sadly, I've lost some friends along the way because of this.

If I could do it all again, would I?
If I could do it all over again.... hmmm. As I look back at my life, especially my high school years and my college years where things began to change, I would like to say that yes I would go back in time and do it differently. Choose different decisions, so that I wouldn't hurt myself or other people. But then I don't think I would be the same person I am today. And although I'm still far from the person I want to be, I like the person I have become. All the experiences that I have gone through in the last 10 + years have all shaped me to the person I am today. Yeah I've done some really stupid things, but I've all had some of the best moments of my life. I have no regrets. And yes I would do it all over again, the same.

How has your childhood affected the way you raise your kids?
I don't have any kids. And although I one day wish to be a mom, children are no where in my life plan at the moment. My life is complete right now with my nieces and nephews, which I adore with all my heart.

But when it comes to my childhood, my parents raised us to be open-minded to different people, different experiences of the world. They also taught us the importance of education, by giving their lack of education as an example. They taught me to be humble and kind. And I hope that when I do have children, I could pass some of these lessons down to them.
